The Orange Ballroom ordered to close for allowing couple to host 3 wedding receptions on same day for 275 guests SINGAPORE — A wedding venue that was once the site of a Covid-19 cluster has been ordered to shut down for 20 days for breaching Covid-19 laws earlier this year. The Orange Ballroom, a wedding and corporate venue located on the third floor of Tanjong Katong Complex in Geylang, had allowed a couple to host three wedding receptions with a total of 275 people on Jan 30. It has to close from Monday (March 22) to April 10. Under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020, the bride and groom are allowed to host only one wedding reception with no more than 100 people, including themselves. In a statement issued on Monday, the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) said that its safe distancing ambassadors discovered that the couple had held two wedding receptions at 1.30pm and 4.30pm while conducting a check at The Orange Ballroom on Jan 30. Further investigations revealed that arrangements had been made to host about 300 people over three receptions on the same day. Investigations are ongoing for potential breaches under the laws. “Agencies take a serious view of any breach in safe management measures by wedding organisers, venue operators and individuals,” SLA said. “We remind all companies involved in wedding events, as well as couples planning their weddings, to be fully aware of and strictly adhere to the prevailing measures to ensure the health and well-being of the community.” The authorities will not hesitate to take firm enforcement action against those who break the rules. This could include fines, suspension of operations, and prosecution for serious cases, SLA said. https://www.todayonline.com/orange-ballroom-ordered-close-allowing-couple-host-3-wedding-receptions-same-day-275-guests https://sg.news.yahoo.com/the-orange-ballroom-to-close-for-20-days-for-hosting-couples-wedding-receptions-with-275-people-120158743.html @ManOfTheHour very obvious3 points

based on what has transpired over the past 4 mths since the rollout of these wuhan vaccines, one thing is certain. none of these vaccines work and is nothing more than a placebo, and a sometimes fatal one. pharmas r for profit corps and not the csr image they trying to portray. so what better way to make money than to manufacture a half-baked vaccine?????? many of her povs r similar to what i expressed so maybe, just maybe, she and i r kindred spirits. wahahahahahhaha2 points

Denmark has reported that two hospital staff members suffered brain hemorrhages and blood clots within two weeks of receiving AstraZeneca vaccines against COVID-19. One has died and the other is seriously ill. The Danish Medicines Agency is investigating to determine whether the conditions were linked to the vaccines. “The Capital Region of Denmark can confirm that two of our employees have been admitted with symptoms of blood clots in the brain and cerebral hemorrhage,” a spokesperson said in a statement shared with the Ekstra Bladet newspaper. “One has sadly passed away.” The disturbing news was reported as nations grapple with whether to trust the AstraZeneca vaccine amid concerns that it may be linked to blood clots and abnormal bleeding. “Right now we are examining whether this is the exact same disease picture with multiple blood clots, a low count of platelets and hemorrhages,” Tanja Erichsen, a director at the Danish Medicines Agency, said in a radio interview with the Danish national broadcaster DR, The New York Times reported. Denmark, along with other Scandinavian countries and several European nations, suspended use of the AstraZeneca vaccine earlier this month. But the European Union’s drug watchdog, the European Medicines Agency, issued a statement Thursday saying that it considered the vaccine “safe and effective” but would continue to track results. It also noted that the benefit of the vaccinations in combating COVID-19 outweigh the risks. “The benefits still outweigh the risks, despite possible link to rare blood clots with low blood platelets,” EMA’s Safety Committee said in a statement. The death in Denmark is the second reported after an AstraZeneca vaccine. A 60-year-old woman died earlier this month of a blood clot following a vaccine. She had unusual symptoms after the injection, including a low number of blood platelets and clots in small and large vessels, as well as bleeding, according to the Danish Medicines Agency, Reuters reported. Norway is also examining two deaths following vaccines. So far, after millions of vaccinations, the number of bleeding disorders following the injections appears minuscule. The EMA review covered 20 million people in the U.K. and 30 European countries. It included seven cases of blood clots in multiple blood vessels and 18 cases of a rare condition that is difficult to treat called cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, Reuters reported. AstraZeneca has not yet commented on the Danish cases.2 points

Donald Trump has kept a relatively low profile since leaving Washington. (AP pic) WASHINGTON: Donald Trump plans to return to social media soon, using “his own platform” after being banned from Twitter and other outlets, a former advisor said Sunday. “I do think that we’re going to see president Trump returning to social media in probably about two or three months,” Jason Miller told Fox News. “It’s going to completely redefine the game, and everybody is going to be waiting and watching to see what exactly president Trump does, but it will be his own platform,” said Miller, who held senior posts in both of Trump’s presidential campaigns. Trump’s provocative use of social media was a defining feature of his presidency, as he drew 88 million followers to Twitter and often used tweets to slam his critics or to announce personnel changes or significant policy shifts. But Twitter permanently suspended his @realDonaldTrump account after he used it to encourage people to take part in the rally that turned into the violent storming of the US Capitol on Jan 6. Trump was also banned, temporarily or permanently, by other major platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat. Since leaving Washington and returning to his Mar-a-Lago resort home in Florida, the former president has kept a relatively low profile, largely relegated to issuing occasional news releases. But Miller said Trump had been hard at work. “There’s been a lot of high-power meetings he’s been having at Mar-a-Lago with some teams of folks who’ve been coming in,” Miller said. “There have been numerous companies.” He added: “This new platform is going to be big, and everyone wants him. He’s going to bring millions and millions — tens of millions of people to this new platform.” Miller provided no other details, nor did he say if he will be personally involved. Despite Trump’s defeat in November by Democrat Joe Biden, he remains influential in the Republican Party and has not ruled out a third run for president in 2024.1 point

SARS-CoV-2 variants with E484K mutation show mRNA vaccine-induced antibody evasion By Jocelyn Solis-MoreiraMar 18 2021 A recent study by researchers in Switzerland, China and the UK found that the Pfizer-BioNTech mRNA vaccine had limited efficacy in identifying mutated receptor-binding domains (RBDs) of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) spike protein similar to the B.1.351 and P.1 variants. The B.1.351 variant was first detected in South Africa, and the P.1 variant in Brazil. Both variants have the E484K mutation, which decreases the neutralizing antibody response produced by vaccines, monoclonal antibody therapies, convalescent plasma, and natural infection.
