Huat Zai Posted March 9, 2023 Share Posted March 9, 2023 A Singaporean man was allegedly robbed of his 30,000 baht (S$1,100) necklace on the streets of Bangkok after receiving a hug from an illegal Cambodian transwoman, reported Thai news site The Thaiger. What happened? On Mar. 8 at around 12:30am, the 52-year-old victim, Andy Koh, and a friend were walking back to their accommodation, said the Lumphini police in Bangkok in a Facebook post. were walking under Asok BTS Station near Soi Sukhumvit 17 when a person came towards them, hugged the man and unhooked his gold necklace, before sprinting off. Koh's Thai friend, Yutthana, realised what had happened, ran after the woman and caught her. They then called the police. Woman arrested A 36-year-old woman named Kinkon was arrested, The Thaiger reported. During their investigation, the police found that she had entered the country illegally and did not have any personal documents. They noted that she did not have any other illegal items on her. Kinkon was arrested and has been charged with snatch theft. Standard drill among pickpockets and snatch thieves is to have another person to receive the item immediately after the first person fleece the mark.
