DBS/POSB users tend to just use PayLah! since it’s convenient and it works even if you’re sending funds to non-PayLah! users. Q4. Can I PayLah! someone who hasn’t registered for either PayLah! or PayNow? No, this is not possible. Q5. Can I link PayLah! to Google Pay? Yes. Exclusive partnership deals for PayLah!-Google Pay users, of course. Q6. What happens if you PayNow someone with PayLah!? The money will be sent to your recipient’s PayNow-linked bank account instead of their PayLah! wallet. Q7. What should you do if you accidentally PayNow-ed or PayLah!-ed an unintended recipient? Contact the recipient and request to get your money back as soon as possible. Otherwise, contact your bank right away. Your bank will do its best to recover the funds on your behalf. The same applies if you’re the one receiving funds through an unintended or erroneous transfer. It is an offence to retain or use money that’s been erroneously sent to you. Compare DBS Credit Cards Which one is right for you? Who can benefit most from using PayNow? You’ll appreciate PayNow’s simplicity and ease of use if all you want is a basic funds transfer service that’s integrated within your mobile banking app. There’s no need to download a separate app just to use PayNow. PayNow is sufficient for peer-to-peer transfers. It is also great for making payments to merchants that accept PayNow. The government also utilises PayNow to disburse funds. Anyone who banks with Bank of China, Citibank, DBS/ POSB, HSBC, ICBC, Maybank, OCBC, Standard Chartered Bank or UOB can use PayNow. Who can benefit most from using PayLah!? Those who bank with DBS/POSB and hold DBS/POSB cards stand to benefit most from using PayLah! thanks to the thoughtfully integrated ecosystem. 14. First, the tune stirred patriotic feelings in schoolchildren in India. Now, Count On Me, Singapore appears to have taken a spiritual turn. Days ago, netizens discovered another dupe of Singapore's beloved 1986 National Day song on the internet. Titled We Have A Vision, the track was uploaded online in 2015 by Dada Bhagwan Foundation, a spiritual non-profit organisation in India. It was the only English song included in an album comprising tracks written in Gujarati language. And for 70 cents, We Have A Vision can be downloaded from the online music platform Bandcamp. PHOTO: Screengrab/Bandcamp In the lyrics, all instances of "Singapore" were replaced with names of the spiritual leaders associated with the foundation. The album cover art also showed that Dada Bhagwan Foundation "owned" the copyright to the songs. At the time of writing, the song is available on various online platforms such as YouTube, SoundCloud and ReverbNation. Just last week, Indian composer Joey Mendoza withdrew his claim over We Can Achieve — a song with music and lyrics that were virtually identical to Count On Me, Singapore — after he was not able to provide evidence to support his claim that he had written the song in 1983. "If he is not able to provide any basis, then he should refrain from infringing on our rights to the song," said the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) after conducting an investigation. Mendoza, who sold We Can Achieve to book and record store Pauline India in 1999, also agreed to remove the song from all social media platforms. Despite his apology for the "confusion caused", many Singaporeans like Tay Ping Hui are still seething over the case and calling Mendoza a thief who "turned around and accused us of stealing from him".

  23. What's fried chicken without some good ol' gravy? And if you love fast food, you'll know that no one does it quite like Jollibee. Well, thanks to one enterprising food blogger, you can now recreate the Filipino chain's smooth, creamy gravy from the comfort of your home and level up your fried chicken game. Sharing his recipe on Saturday (March 20), the food blogger, who goes by Pinoy Food Boy, declared that he'd "hacked" Jollibee's cult favourite gravy. The post promptly went viral, amassing over 13,000 shares. https://www.facebook.com/pinoyfoodboy/posts/285591932921816 And if the comments are any indication of the taste, the recipe isn't too far off from the real thing. PHOTO: Facebook screengrab If you're in the mood to indulge in some fried chicken and gravy here's Pinoy Food Boy's fuss-free recipe. Ingredients 2 tbsp unsalted butter 2 tbsp flour 2 cups chicken stock 1/2 cup full cream milk 1/2 tsp soy sauce 1 tsp ground pepper 1 tsp salt (optional) Steps 1. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Control the heat so it doesn't burn. 2. When the butter has melted, mix the flour in to make a roux. 3. Add the chicken stock. Mix until thickened. 4. Add the milk and soy sauce. Mix well. 5. Add the pepper. If the gravy is salty enough, skip the additional teaspoon of salt. 6. Enjoy with some fried chicken.

  29. Fake degree racket busted, 5 arrested Ambika Sharma Tribune News Service Solan, March 23 The Baddi police have busted a fake degree racket while investigating a case of a clone website registered on the complaint of Barotiwala-based IEC University in December 2020. A special investigation team (SIT) led by the SDPO, Baddi, has arrested five members of a gang involved in providing fake degrees of various universities, HP Education Board as well as professional institutions of Himachal and other states. Baddi SP Rohit Malpani said today that Manish Kumar (32), a resident of Fazilka (Punjab), and Archana Singh (31), a resident of Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh, were arrested recently, while Inan Ahmed (34) of Bihar, and Mohammed Salim (29) and Bharti, both residents of Delhi, were arrested in February. He said that the SIT had also recovered a large number of blank marksheets and degrees of various universities, including four or five in Himachal, HP State Education Board as well as professional institutes of Himachal and other states such as Punjab offering courses in B.Tech, ayurveda, MBBS, physiotherapy, MBA, and law. The stamps of officials of several institutes and universities had also been seized. Police sources said that the gang bought domain names matching the universities from the domain register company, GoDaddy. Archana Singh was instrumental in making payments through credit cards to the company. They said that the gang used at least 100 matching websites of various institutes and universities in various states. They operated through a call centre at Noida and telecallers sought the details of degrees required and also provided information on payment. The racket came to light when one such degree on verification by a university located in the Barotiwala industrial area was found to be fake. The gang also operated through agents in various states. Agent Manish Kumar, who was arrested in Fazilka, had sought two degrees of professional courses of 2014-2015 and 2019-2020 academic years from them. The police raided his computer centre and recovered key evidence. Police officials said that a probe was underway and more links would emerge as the investigation progresses. “A company named Ample Themes had illegally created the website. When the matter came to our notice, we warned the company through a letter on November 15, 2019, but it did not discontinue the website,” the university registrar had said. Clone website of Barotiwala varsity A case of a clone website of IEC University, Barotiwala, being operated by a company came to light last year. The official website of the university is www.iecuniversity.com but another website, with the domain name www.iecuniversity.org, carrying its logo and other details was being operated illegally. https://www.tribuneindia.com/news/himachal/fake-degree-racket-busted-5-arrested-229533
