Sengkang hospital the doctors seems junor. Every time i go for apointment there kena those attached doctor who is learning on the job with other senior doctor from sgh.

 

Just like sengkang polyclinic too. I only met a senior doctor once after going there every few months for my medicine top up.

Besides the 3 big, sgh, kk, tts, the rest all juniors. Any doc that has enough experience goes into private practice and sign on as a specialist with the 3 big.

In practice, the junior Drs ie 1-4yrs serves the front line ie GP type of duties.  So that they can practice medical diagnosis!  There will be at least a Registrar on duty (Lepak in one of those rooms) if these Jnr Drs need advice!    The Housemen (Dr in training ie yr 1) doing OJT will be shadow by a Snr Dr or Registrar! 

 

As a Jnr Dr in SG public hospital especially those bonded ones, they are often kanna bullied by Snr Drs esp FTs (Ceca) DRs!  The feeling for those who dont have the heart of treating people (doing medicine just want to make money) is like sinkies going through NS!

 

Those Drs kanna posted to newer public hospitals  are often (majority) those not so good (so kanna push out from SGH, TTSH)!  Some Drs are posted on temp (6 mths) basis because lack of Drs! 

 

I have posted some info on this issue in the past! 

 

You just need to be careful when u get those 3rd world (Indon, Myammar, Philippines, Ceca) Drs during your consultation!  Many of their qualifications are not listed in the IMG directive!
