new pudong lujiazui area, next to ifc.

 

this mall is owned by siam's cp group.

 

theres a nice japanese restaurant on the 4th or 5th floor of ifc mall, i make it a point to jiak there whenever i m in shanghai.

I keep misreading Pigudong as Pudong...

 

正大 is the Chinese name of the Charoen Pokphand (CP) Group in Thailand which was started by a pair of Teochew brothers with surname Chia.

go bkk speak teochew, can survive in samphanthawong.

 

btw, some of the teochew families in siamland has a less-than-glamorous history from today's perspective.

the rice, timber, seafood and bird nest businesses in siamland r basically cornered by a few old teochew families.

 

especially the rice export business, almost 90% of rice exporters r teochews.

 

but the most sakti thai biz i want to invest.............
