  1. no need say old folks, even those who have tertiary education have this mentality. best example is loong loong's casino economy. despite the best efforts of some economists in pointing out the unsustainability of such an economic policy, majority of the country is still stupid enough to trust loong loong.

  7. malaysia exports frozen becos they havent obtained the chinese sanitary cert and the smell of malaysian durians r very much stronger than siam durians. to pass the sanitary test is easy but finding a shipper is the difficult part. not many shippers r willing to take the job due to the extra cleaning involved.

  12. confirm election is coming. to really solve the issue, it is time to relook the logic of streaming. best is to let the p6 students take exam to serve as a gauge to their potential and give a general secondary education b4 streaming them for a-level or poly.

  13. alrdy said at the beginning of the trade war that china will be hit badly becos of supply chain switching. still have kgk economists tell me that consumers r paying majority of the tariffs when in fact, it is the tiongland manufacturer who has to bear the burden of the tax while the us treasury happy happy collect money which was supposed to be the manufacturer's margin.

  23. that means consolidation led by the big 6 is coming. really dont know what the tiong regulators r doing during the late 1990s and 2000s, never learn from the asian financial crisis and kept on issuing banking licences. one of the reasons why asian financial crisis hit the malaysians, indos, thais, pinoys and skoreans that badly is becos of massive lending between banks and their parent conglomerates. as a result, once there is a financial crunch in one of the group companies, the banking arm is usually asked to rescue regardless of financial viability. but when there is a economy-wide crunch, the recipe for a systematic failure is in place. that is why sgp regulators insisted that local banking groups cannot be involved in other non-financial activities after the crisis despite being relatively immune. in tiongland, most of these regional banks r majority-owned by private conglomerates and moral hazard is a strong possibility in such a setup. according to a rough count, sexperts estimate there r ard 3000 of these regional banks chartered by the local branches of the banking regulator. so when an economy-wide crunch happens, systematic failure is not far.

  29. Review from amazon : Capitalism shapes every aspect of our world, beyond just our economic structures; it moulds our values and influences the way we write laws, wage wars and even conduct personal relationships. From its beginnings to the present day, Capitalism: A Graphic Guide tells the story of capitalism’s remarkable and often ruthless rise, evolving through strife and struggle as much as innovation and enterprise. This non-fiction graphic novel explores the key developments that have shaped our modern world, from early banking to the Opium Wars, financial crashes, the rise of service economies and concerns about sustainability. It also introduces us to the leading proponents and critics of capitalism, providing both a theoretical and practical understanding of this fascinating subject.
