Facebook user Andrea Chan shared videos of the incident in a post on Monday (17 Aug). https://m.facebook.com/andreachanx/posts/3384527498266334?refsrc=http%3A%2F%2Fgoodyfeed.com%2Fchc-cell-group-leader-abuse%2F In the video, a man on a bicycle, allegedly the CHC cell group leader, can be seen intentionally riding over a cat’s tail before turning to the camera and laughing. The cat quickly darts away, and it appears to have escaped unscathed. Chan, who is a former CHC cell group member, says she left the man’s group because her fellow members condoned the abuse. She claims that the man had also abused other cats in the past, and even joked about it later on. “I was a cell member, hearing you joked in the past about how you’ve abused another cat by throwing something at it(not sure what item was it) to get rid of it, or even scaring the cat when it wasn’t doing anything to you.” She also uploaded a screenshot of a conversation where the accused claimed he was only “playing”. Chan said she couldn’t be part of a cell group that would keep schtum about animal abuse “If no other members are going to voice up about your wrongdoings, then this isn’t the cell group I wish to be in.” She added that she has reported the incident to both the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), and is awaiting their responses.
