socrates469bc Posted October 21, 2020 Share Posted October 21, 2020 nb, confirm number is wrong after 1980. if replacement is below 2, that means population will start contracting after 18 yrs or so, but from the data, the population continued growing after 2000. this means the official net migration figure has a high possibility of under-reporting after 1985. using the difference between 2005 and 2010, there is a total of 725k net migrants and with low fertility of 1.23, that means there is only negligible growth after taking into account death rate, so by my intelligence guesstimate, the yearly population gain of 173k shld be 90% from net migration which will exceed the official reported 144k. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
