Ya big mistake.... Republican ish not like democrats...

historically, both parties r equally hawkish in foreign and defense.

the divergence came in the mid 1970s when dovish democrat carter came into office and the democrats became increasingly more dovish by the late 2000s when the leftist so-called liberals took control of the party .

since 1975, american foreign and defense policies have been dovish whenever a democrat is in the white house.

i always know trump will defend american at all cost. Benghazi 2.0 is not going to happen

he wants to prevent another iranian hostage crisis of 1979 from repeating.

coupled with this being an election yr, he cannot afford to be looking weak to the american public.

thats why u can see the democrats only question on legality of the strike and but not the wisdom of the action except to say this will increase the tension.

no country will dare use it first.

the isrealis will conduct a long range surgical strike on the iranian facilities like they did to the iraqis in 1981.

thats why the iranians have scattered the facilities but this also meant that they will be exposed once they try to assemble the bomb.

alternatively, the isrealis and americans will conduct cyber disabling operations to disable  the iranian facilities.

the saudis and other arab allies will be footing the bill since they r more than happy to see a disarmed iran.

Stuxnet is a malicious computer worm, first uncovered in 2010, thought to have been in development since at least 2005. Stuxnet targets SCADA systems and is believed to be responsible for causing substantial damage to Iran's nuclear program. Although neither country has openly admitted responsibility, the worm is widely understood to be a jointly built American/Israeli cyberweapon.

....

Stuxnet reportedly compromised Iranian PLCs, collecting information on industrial systems and causing the fast-spinning centrifuges to tear themselves apart.

...

Stuxnet reportedly ruined almost one-fifth of Iran's nuclear centrifuges.[8] Targeting industrial control systems, the worm infected over 200,000 computers and caused 1,000 machines to physically degrade.[9]

thats why despite the bravado iranian propaganda, the iranians r still unable to assemble the bomb due to the inability to enrich enough uranium except by buying from the north koreans.

however, the north koreans have limited enriched uranium since their system is most likely compromised by the americans.

most likely the iranians r buying the tiong-made plcs now, but question is whether the tiong-made r suitable since even the tiong nuclear program depends on american/european/nippon plcs.

In an interview with The New Yorker on Jan 4, former senior CIA officer and current US congresswoman Elissa Slotkin said that both the Bush and Obama administrations had considered assassinating Soleimani.

She said it would not have been difficult as Soleimani regularly left himself exposed, as he had at Baghdad airport. But discussions had always ended with the conclusion that the adverse consequences from such action would not be worth it.

She commented that Trump had obviously made a different cost-benefit calculation.

That in turn raises the question of whether Trump made any such on-balance decision – or whether he followed, as he so often does, his gut instinct. It seems highly likely that his action – carried out now, when he could probably have done this any time over the past three years – is related to his impeachment.

And obviously to this year’s presidential election.

Republicans, and probably a good many Democrats (if sotto voce), are hugely buoyed by a US military success such as this. And even if the US is kicked out of Iraq, Trump (and most Americans, particularly those in the mid-west states that will decide the election) won’t care.

The US still has massive intelligence coverage of Iraq and can hit opponents with impunity.

Despite the dire prognostications, one can’t rule out that, a few months from now, Trump will be judged by most Americans (and by foreign observers) to have won big by killing Iran’s foremost military commander.

Iranians miscalculated. they didnt expect Trump to play so big.

Donald is 73, if he wins re-election, good.

if don't win, he can go back to mar a lago  to enjoy retirement with his trophy wife, while all the benefits and prestige of retired presidents.

Will u strike if u r trump? I would.
