Expecting anything more from taxi drivers, though, might just be a tad unreasonable. Take for instance this lady who allegedly insisted that a taxi driver carry a heavy box up to her home, only to lecture him when he refused. Lectured for not carrying box up to house One taxi driver took to Facebook group Singapore Taxi Driver on Dec. 17 to rant about a passenger he recently picked up. According to his post, this is a summary of what happened: - At around 3pm, he said that he picked up a lady and a primary school girl from IKEA Alexandra. - Their destination was a condominium in Bukit Batok. They had with them a carton box — approximately one metre long and according to Ng, “freaking heavy”. - The driver claimed that he helped to load this “heavy box” on to his vehicle at IKEA, and also unloaded it when they arrived at their destination. - At the condominium lobby, the lady asked if the driver could help her carry the box up to her house. He declined to help. - The lady supposedly lectured him, saying that “all other taxi drivers has no problem to help [sic]”. She also pointed out that she is a “woman with young kids”, and could not possibly carry the heavy item.
