It's the only system we have now that is somewhat working, yes it sucks balls, but until we figure out a better system, it's the one we're stuck with.

For years I always think every voter should take an an Aptitude Test before they are allowed to vote. It doesn't guarantee shit but at least there is a certain yard stick

benevolent dictatorship b4 the word dictator became synonymous  with tyrannical rulers.

 

dictatorship was a magistrate with emergency powers subject to severe limitations on these powers and also limited by his term as magistrate in the roman republic.

 

unfortunately, benevolent dictators r far and few in history.

The purpose of the test is not to influence the voter but rather to determine if the voter knows who/what/why he/she is voting. It will be based on a series of questions to test on common sense, values, empathy, ethics, etc and less on academics. If the voter pass the test and still want to go ahead and vote in a dictator, then too bad the vote will be counted.
