  1. The Mi 10T (pro) is the latest addition to Xiaomi's Mi-10 line of phones and it's got the flagship Snapdragon 865 processor, it's got a big 5000 mAh battery and... it's got an LCD display? -Yes. An LCD display. That kinda caught me off-guard but after trying it out for a few weeks I can say that this LCD display is actually really good. It's sharp, vibrant, bright, and it's got an adaptive refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. This means it will adapt the refresh rate to whatever you are doing. -Movies will be 50 - 60 Hz and playing games or scrolling through the UI could go up to 144Hz to give a smoother experience. This will save battery by not using a high refresh rate when it's not needed. The downside of the LCD display is that this phone does not have an Always-On-Display, it does not have that curved display (like the rest of the phones in the Mi-10 series) and it does not have an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the side of the phone in the on/off button. -Which still is quite a convenient place for it... The camera is also on-par with the rest of the Mi-10 series. It's got a very impressive 108-megapixel main camera, which can shoot very high-resolution photos that look very good. Also, the photos at night come out looking good and don't have a lot of noise. The wide-angle is 13 megapixels and is not AS good and AS wide as on the Mi 10 Pro or the Mi 10 Ultra that we have recently seen. The photos during the day come out looking quite good, but at night not all the photos came out well. Lastly there is a 5MP macro lens for very close up shots. I personally don't have much need for such a camera on my phone, even though I do use a macro lens quite often on my camera when filming these reviews. -If you do like it.. well it's there! It does have two new camera features that are pretty cool and that's the clone-feature and the dual-camera. The clone feature lets you duplicate (clone) yourself in photos just like it was done in photoshop. You can get up to 4 clones in photos and 2 in the clone-video. Unfortunately, the video is quite short and is in 1280 x 720. The dual-video option allows you to use the front and back camera at the same time. You can set this to be a split-screen or as a picture-in picture and you can change this live whilst recording. So this could be pretty cool for some people who want to show two perspectives at once. The Mi 10T Pro also films 8K video. These come out looking very very good. They are not AS stabilized as I had recently with the Mi 10 Ultra, but the image quality is very good. (Also at night the 8K video came out looking very decent...) Other notable features on the Mi 10 T are NFC, 5G-support, IR-blaster and the dual speakers that give quite a nice audio experience. Overall I do really like the Mi 10T pro and it seems to be a very capable phone in the mid-tier level for a very decent price and I did have fun using it over the last weeks.
  2. While Xiaomi had unveiled its prototype of a double folding smartphone back in 2019, the device had never been released commercially. Now, the Chinese tech giant has filed a design patent for another foldable smartphone with two bending screens, which have a Z shaped design. According to a LetsGoDigital report, the company filed the patent with WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office). This patent was approved last week and contains 16 sketches of the device as well. Looking at these images, the smartphone looks like any other device from the front when it is folded. A punch hole display can be observed on the front, however, the interesting aspect of the device is tucked behind it. When unfolded, the device unveils a large display on the other side of the external display that was seen from the front. This large display has a two hinge mechanism, which means that it technically has three screen areas, with the first being on the opposite of the external display, while the other two are an extension of the same that fold inward from the back. Since the rear panel is completely comprised of the large display, the only camera is the selfie shooter which can only be used as the rear camera when the device is unfolded. Underneath the primary/external display is where most of the crucial components of the device are housed, with the SIM card and volume rockers being found on the right side. This side also features an additional large button, which is likely built for the unfolding mechanism. On the bottom, a USB Type C port can be found, flanked by speakers grills on either side that can also be found on the top. Unfortunately, this might just be the company’s attempt to cover all bases. So, it is unknown if Xiaomi actually plans on developing such a device. Although, the device quite futuristic and might be seen sometime in the next few years as technology advances further. This is by far not impossible to build, but might be quite unwieldy due to its size and, weight.
  3. Rocket League has now gone free-to-play, and those who download the game before October 23 can earn a $10 / £10 voucher to spend on the Epic Games Store. The $10 voucher can only be used on qualifying games and add-ons priced at $14.99 / £15.99, and expires on November 1, 2020. The vehicular-based soccer game was snapped up by Epic Games, and is no longer available to purchase on Steam. The game will continue to be fully supported for Steam owners, though, and cross-platform progression support has been enabled, allowing users to link their Epic Games Account across Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Steam. Rocket League is currently holding a Llama-Rama event that allows players to unlock rewards for both Rocket League and Epic’s other popular online multiplayer game, Fortnite. A Battle Bus is also coming to Rocket League as a new playable vehicle. Drive of your life Rocket League was extremely well-received when it debuted as a PlayStation Plus title way back in 2015 and continues to be popular with players on all platforms. Now that Rocket League has gone free-to-play, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch owners won’t need either a PS Plus or a Nintendo Switch Online membership to play. Xbox One users will still require Xbox Live Gold, however. The Epic Games Store continues to give away free games each and every week. Currently, Watch Dogs 2, Football Manager 2020 and Stick It To The Man! can be yours to keep forever.
  4. KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has claimed that he has the majority support to become the Prime Minister of the country. “I have a strong formidable convincing majority. Not a small majority,” he said at a press conference on Wednesday (Sept 23). The PKR president added that details would only be given after an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah. "We need a strong, stable government to run the country. Includes Barisan MPs. The discretion to dissolve Parliament is the sole prerogative of the Agong. I spoke to him on Monday night. "This is not a backdoor government, this is a government that has the mandate and support. Of course it is a Malay-majority government, but will be inclusive so that every community is represented," he added. A media invite was issued by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) communications director Fahmi Fadzil earlier Wednesday, stating that the PKR president would be holding a press conference at noon at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur. Full statement from Anwar Ibrahim I would like to thank the media for joining us today on short notice. The people of Malaysia deserve leadership which can navigate effectively during these turbulent times. Instead, we have an unstable government whose inability to handle the crisis is driving the country towards an economic recession and rising racial tension. We have not seen it mobilize all the country’s resources and capabilities to face the crisis head on. What has happened, instead, is the government has been busy distributing positions, appointments and contracts in order to cling to extremely bare and razor-thin majority in Parliament. It is difficult for us to know what the 70 ministers are doing. We have never been informed about the deliberations taking place in the Cabinet. Until now – seven months after taking office during a unprecedented national and international crisis -- the Prime Minister has not held a single press conference following his regular Cabinet meeting. I have been approached by a number of MPs from various parties who expressed their deep dissatisfaction with the current leadership. They recognize that the country must have strong, stable and accountable leadership to manage the crisis and to do so with compassion and concern for the plight of all people who are struggling in this pandemic economy. They have expressed their support for me to take over the government now. I have received convincing support from Members of Parliament for me to present to His Majesty the Yang Dipertuan Agong. I wish to state here that the majority of MPs supporting me are Malay and Muslim. I would like to mention that I was granted an audience to meet His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong yesterday, Tuesday 21 September at 11 am. The meeting was postponed due to the fact that he was being treated the National Heart Institute. However, through a telephone conversation on Tuesday night I prayed for his speedy recovery and health. With a clear and indisputable support and majority behind me, the government led by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has fallen. I will meet with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong when he regains his health and will provide more information to the public about what happens next. This government will represent all people, with majority Malay-Bumiputra and fair representation of all races in this country. We are commited to uphold the principles of the constitution that recognises the position of Islam, the sovereignty of the Malay rulers and uphold the position of the Malay language as the official language and the special position of the Malays and Bumiputra as well as give assurance to defend the rights of all races. Lastly, I would like to say to all Malaysians: I promise to form a government with integrity and commitment to address the crisis that befell the country, and put an end to corruption and fight for the wellbeing of the people. Insha’Allah I will fulfill my promise to make Malaysia a prosperous, peaceful and just country for all its people. Thank you. ANWAR IBRAHIM
