I laugh out lot at what EDB's MD is saying.
See what the comments and i fully agreed with those comments.
I started with ceramic IC package when i got out fresh from poly. Later got involved with expoy resins IC package.
Very hard to restart this sector since most local engineers either retire or work overseas. My time in semicon they already start to let in burmese and pinoy into engineering sector while there is quite a number of chinaman working for a certain time in semicon.
Later chinaman got the skills and they got send back to set up china branch of doing semicon backend machines. Slowly china side technical skills improve.
Stupid move by govt. Only 20 years later then feel the impact. Too late most kids are not interested or have passion in engineering.
