is the tiny scratches by Tritan safe?

 

I think both are food safe. Just that Tritan probably higher melting point than the other plastic. 

The scratching will happen with all materials - cos the coffee grain between the rubber seal and the tritan wall will act like a mild abrasive. But I must add that the guys who have said their AP Clear has scratches .. they aren't the best at cleaning and they drink too much coffee - so might just pump out coffees with it, without washing properly between each brew.

They have versions made with Tritan but not clear - semi transparent - so maybe you can grab one of those

Aiyo  Use motor to grind also no use when grind removal is so clunky  But keep the Pharos well maintained - cos it is a nice historical piece of engineering by Beardyman  

Got buy Aeropress mah? Actually the new Tritan Aeropress that is clear see through was launched recently. But hearing from people who use it that it slowly becomes non see-through cos when the plunger push the coffee grounds inside the syringe, they accumulate tiny scratches from the coffee :s Like that the earlier darker version might be a better buy - it is supposed to be BPA free but not Tritan
