    • The accused, Mohamad Aiman. (Straits Times) An argument arose over the payment method. The delivery man put the food on the steps and said, "Dog, go get your food." As a result, the customer stabbed the delivery man in the abdomen with a Swiss knife, causing him to bleed profusely and be sent to the hospital. The defendant, Mohammad Aiman (22 years old), pleaded guilty to a charge of intentionally causing hurt by armed with a dangerous weapon. After taking into account another charge he faced under the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act, the judge sentenced him to five months in prison and ordered him to pay compensation of S$3,500. The incident happened at around 10pm on December 22, 2024, at Block 214, Marsiling Lane. According to the case, the victim was a Grab delivery driver at the time. The defendant ordered a takeaway through Grab at 9:30 pm that night, ordering fish and chips for $17.30, and indicated on the platform that he would pay $50.30 and asked the delivery driver to prepare $33 for him. After seeing this, the delivery driver sent a private message to the defendant via the platform, asking if he could give him $33 via PayNow. However, as the defendant was unable to make or receive payments electronically, he told the delivery driver to "read the instructions." The delivery driver did not respond. After the delivery driver arrived at the defendant's HDB flat, he sent a private message to the defendant saying that he had brought $33 in cash. When the defendant went downstairs to pick up the takeaway, he folded his arms and looked at the delivery driver. The delivery driver asked him, "Why are you acting like a big boss?" The defendant said the instructions were clearly marked and that if the driver didn't read them, it wasn't his fault. The driver told the defendant to "shut up," then placed the food on the steps and was about to leave. The defendant muttered, "What are you doing?" The driver then turned and said to the defendant, "Go get your food, dog." The defendant stabbed the delivery driver with a Swiss knife. (From court documents) In a rage, the defendant took out a Swiss knife hanging from his key and walked towards the delivery man, trying to stab him. Although the delivery man retreated, pushed the defendant away and tried to defend himself with his helmet, he was still stabbed twice in the abdomen. After a scuffle between the two, the delivery driver pinned the defendant to the ground and called for help. Two members of the public who heard the defendant's screams came to help, and one of them also called the police. The delivery man was sent to the hospital with a two-centimeter wound on his abdomen, which required stitches and he was given 16 days of sick leave. The defendant was arrested at 11:14 pm on the night of the incident and was charged in court on December 24 last year. The deliveryman still leaves a shadow The delivery driver also appeared in court on Friday morning (August 29) to listen to the trial. He later said in court that he was still traumatized by the incident and felt that his digestive system was not as good as before. He was also worried that it would affect his future health. The prosecution pointed out that although the delivery man insulted the defendant, the defendant still attacked him with a dangerous weapon after the delivery man had walked away, and stabbed him twice. The prosecution asked the judge to sentence the defendant to five months and two weeks in prison. After the incident, related photos were also circulated on the Internet. From the pictures, it can be seen that the delivery man had blood flowing from his stomach.
