- Time: About 12:10 am, Friday 21 August 2026
- Location: Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE), direction Woodlands — at the slip road leading to the Seletar Expressway (SLE) exit
🔥 What Happened
- Two Traffic Police officers were on patrol when they noticed smoke rising from the engine compartment of their patrol vehicle. They evacuated immediately.
- The vehicle caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames. Footage shared on Facebook by SG Road Vigilante shows the burning vehicle on the slip road with thick smoke rising.
- The two officers, together with a member of the public, attempted to put out the fire before SCDF arrived.
- SCDF firefighters extinguished the blaze using a water jet. No other injuries were reported.
🏥 Aftermath
- Both officers were taken conscious to Singapore General Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
- They have since been discharged.
🔻 Cause & Status
- The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Singapore Police Force.
