Introduced in response to economic impacts from the Middle East situation, with inflation expected to stay high into 2027.
🍛 Rental Support for Hawker & Market Stallholders
- Cooked food stalls: S$1,200 total
- Market stalls: S$600 total
- Paid out over 6 months (Sep 2026 – Feb 2027)
- Applies to stalls run by the government or its appointed operators
- ~15,200 stalls benefit: 6,900 cooked food stalls, 8,300 market stalls
- Higher amount for food stalls accounts for extra costs like energy and raw ingredients
💼 Support for SMEs & Businesses
1. Enhanced Enterprise Financing Scheme (Sep 2026 – Mar 2027)
- Government risk share raised from 50% to 70% for:
- EFS-SME Working Capital Loan
- EFS-Project Loan
- EFS-Project Loan coverage expanded to include local construction projects, helping the sector manage rising costs
2. SME Cash Grant 2026
- Active SMEs with at least 1 local staff: S$500 per local employee, capped at S$2,500 per business
- Eligible sole proprietorships/partnerships/LLPs with no local employees but at least 1 local owner: Flat S$500 payout
- No application needed – payments will be automatically issued in November 2026
Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry Low Yen Ling noted authorities will monitor the situation closely and roll out more targeted help if needed. The measures also aim to sustain Singapore’s hawker culture and trade.
