A housewife has been remanded for five days to assist investigations into the discovery of five firearms, including an M16 rifle, during a raid at a house in Kampung Miak, Gua Musang yesterday.
The 32-year-old woman was remanded from today until Saturday following an order issued by Magistrate Nik Mohd. Tarmizie Nik Mohd. Shukri.
Gua Musang district police chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo said the suspect was arrested by the General Operations Force (GOF) at about 6.45pm during the raid at the Kampung Miak residence, Kosmo reported.
He said the remand was to allow police to carry out further investigations under Section 8 of the Firearms Act (Increased Penalties) 1971 and Section 8(a) of the Firearms Act 1960.
The operation was conducted under Ops Bersepadu Khazanah Siri 4/2026 with the Department of Wildlife and National Parks and the Kelantan State Forestry Department.
