    • SINGAPORE: A male teenager has been arrested following an incident where a boy had filmed himself allegedly licking a straw from an iJooz vending machine and putting the straw back. The police said on Friday (Apr 3) in response to CNA's queries that a report was lodged and that the 18-year-old has been arrested for public nuisance. They added that investigations are ongoing. In a video posted on the Singaporeincidents.sg Instagram page, a boy is seen taking a straw from an iJooz vending machine, which serves freshly squeezed orange juice, and licking it.    He then appears to place the straw into the machine again. The caption claimed that the teen posted the video on his Instagram account on Mar 12. It did not reveal the account. iJooz said on Mar 27 in response to CNA's queries: "On the evening of Mar 24, iJooz was made aware of a video that has been circulating on social media, of a youth who filmed himself licking a straw from an iJooz vending machine and placing the straw back in to the straw dispenser." iJooz said it lodged a police report on Mar 25 and will work with the police and other authorities on this matter. It also noted: "In the light of this incident, we have initiated additional internal checks, inspections, straw replacements and machine sanitation protocols." iJooz added that it takes this incident "extremely seriously".   "We are extremely apologetic and dismayed that such an incident has occurred."  Source: CNA/ss
    • Bus driver operating bus 49 tower transit, approx 1245H, SG1002B, at BLK 551, on 3 April 2026 hold down horn behind funeral procession when family members boarding after sending off. All were immediately boarding but he held down horn for at least 1 minute even when he saw the procession. He had no compassion even though it was a funeral send off that only held up at most 2 minutes as pax were boarding without delay. Passengers onboard were staring at the driver. Driver don’t dare look us in the eye when horning. Public nuisance and disrespect. Is this how a company treat singaporeans who are having their last goodbye? There was no delay with people boarding so as to not block others, kept to the left side of the road. This is disrespectful to the family. If driver like these are not reprimanded or spoken to, this will become a common occurrence for him. Is this how we show respect as a community?
    • ST Engineering’s marine business has secured a six-year sub-contract from Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ABSB) worth $600 million to build eight missile gun boats for the Kuwait Naval Force. In a statement on Wednesday (April 1), ST Engineering said that it will design and supply the platform systems for the fleet, with three vessels to be built at its shipyard in Singapore. The missile gun boats will be based on ST Engineering’s proprietary Fearless-class patrol vessel. First used by the Republic of Singapore Navy in 1995, four of the vessels were refurbished and reintroduced into service 26 years later as Sentinel-class Maritime and Security and Response Vessels. ST Engineering said that the Fearless-class patrol vessels are "purpose-built for versatility and reliability", and are "well suited for operations in the Middle East for “prolonged patrols and naval duties across challenging maritime environments". This announcement follows an earlier contract awarded to ST Engineering in 2021 to build four similar offshore patrol vessels for the United Arab Emirates Navy. "We are honoured that the Kuwait Naval Force has chosen our Fearless-class design for their new missile gun boat," said Tan Leong Peng, president of the marine business at ST Engineering. "The growing acceptance of our design across the Middle East, in Oman, UAE and now Kuwait, reflects customer confidence in its robust operational performance and adaptability."
