    • https://thumbsnap.com/i/dDjn52TY.mp4   A man in Kerala’s Thrissur district lost his life while attempting to rescue a kitten trapped in the middle of a busy road. The deceased, identified as 44-year-old Sijo Timothy, a resident of Ollukkara, was struck by a truck during the rescue attempt. The kitten, however, was saved. The incident occurred at 9.41 pm on Tuesday near Mango Bakery at Mannuthi Kalathodu junction. According to eyewitnesses, a mother cat and her kitten were trying to cross the road when a vehicle hit the kitten. The injured kitten remained stranded in the middle of the road as the mother cat tried in vain to reach it, hindered by the flow of traffic. Sijo, who was passing by on his motorbike, noticed the situation and got off to help. CCTV footage showed him being hit by a speeding lorry as he bent down to pick up the kitten. The impact of the truck caused him to fall in front of an oncoming car from the opposite direction and he was dragged along the road. He was rushed to a private hospital in Thrissur, but doctors were unable to save him.

The accident happened around 11 pm last Wednesday (9) and was recorded by security cameras. According to the images, the friends were crossing the pedestrian crossing on Avenida Goiás in São Caetano do Sul, in Greater São Paulo . The driver, a 26-year-old identified as Brendo Santos Sampaio, admitted that he was driving his Honda Civic above the speed limit on the road. In the video, it is possible to see that friends Isabela Priel Regis and Isabelli Helena de Lima Costa were thrown more than 50 meters. The young women who were run over did not survive their injuries and, when the Military Police arrived, they were already dead. The driver was subjected to a breathalyzer test, which returned a negative result. According to Balanço Geral, Brendo is a law student and had just left college when the accident occurred. However, a witness interviewed by the police claims to have seen the driver of the Honda Civic racing against a white Onix moments before the accident. Therefore, the Civil Police are investigating the possible involvement of the second vehicle in the run over of the young women.
