How to have drinking water during SHTF

my suggest since our home cant store much water, we need to create drinking water, my water sauce (mine is near Serangoon river) to filter clean drinking water.

my method to create drinking water are:
filter using Millbank bag then add iodine (cause it does not expire, can use poolshock also) then a gravity water filter
or pressure can my drinking water
or store lot water using those jerry can (change water yearly) and if need then use solar for disinfection

for food use dehydrator to store food longer from a few month to 1 or 2 years,

or also can store food using storage buckets (with gramma lids) in mylar bag for long term food storage (keep up to 30yr) food like white rice, bean (pinto, navy, Chickpeas, mung (aka green bean))

Does the lifestraws have an expiry date? My flints are small but I have a dozen of them so that I can make different survival packs to spread out risk.

As someone who spent 2+ years in sinkie forest under the rain, I can tell you don't bother with the shavings... solid fuel is your friend.
