Corsair SSD

What you need to know

  • New SSD supports the incoming PCIe 4.0 standard.
  • Will fully support AMD's new Ryzen 3000 processors and X570 chipset.
  • Due to arrive in July with pricing currently unknown.

AMD's new Ryzen 3000 and X570 announcements at Computex have ruffled many feathers, and one of the big deals is the support of the new PCIe 4.0 standard. The increased bandwidth it makes available over PCIe 3.0 is pretty staggering, and SSDs like this new one from Corsair can take full advantage.

The MP600 is one of the very first PCIe 4.0 SSDs to be announced and Corsair is boasting of read speeds up to 4,950MB/s. That completely annihilates the performance of our current favorite SSD, the Samsung 970 Evo Plus. Its claimed write speed of 4,250MB/s isn't too shabby either (it's absolutely insane).

Despite boasting an integrated heatsink, the MP600 still fits inside a standard m.2 slot. Pricing hasn't yet been announced, but the new SSD is expected to hit the market in July alongside both Ryzen 3000 and X570 hardware so system builders are ready to go for the next generation of performance.
