  1. TLDR is .. There isn't one grinder that can do great for [Aeropress/French Press] and [espresso/Robot]. Moi suggestion is to get a cheap hand grinder that is easy to grind with, easy to clean, easy to maintain. Moi intro you budget grinders For AP and French Press ------------------------------- 1. Q-Air (Taiwanese company) (sub 100 dollars) https://1zpresso.coffee/product/qair/ https://commonmancoffeeroasters.com/products/1zpresso-q-air-coffee-hand-grinder The body is plastic, but inside stainless steel / aluminium. Sub 100 dollars, can grind 20g one time - as in the top chamber where you put coffee, one time can put 20g. 2. Q (Taiwanese company) (around 100-110 dollars) The sibling brother of this grinder is this - Q https://1zpresso.coffee/product/q2/ It is almost the same as the one above, but the body is aluminium too and the burr is maybe 1-2mm taller. Grinding capacity and speed is almost the same as Q-Air. A bit more durable cos of the metal, but not really any change in drinks. Moi have the Q-Air - gift from my wifu (though she uses it most of the time cos the other hand grinder too big for her hands) Grinding 18g of light roast for Aeropress setting will take 50-60seconds. For French Press, maybe 20-25 seconds. If you are using darker roast, the grinding will be easier cos beans more brittle 3. Timemore S3 (150 - 180 dollars) https://www.timemore.com/collections/coffee-grinder-manual/products/timemore-manual-coffee-grinder-chestnut-s3 This one easier to grind for both AP and French Press - cos the crank length is longer. All metal body. Taste similar to Q-Air/Q but I prefer the Q series cos both can fit inside the Aeropress tube for travel These grinders can grind for Robot, but the level of control is limited - and it will take ages to grind for espresso. So won't recommend for that. Budget electric -------------------- 1. DF54 (budget kind - can grind for AP and French Press). Can grind for Robot Coffees with flat burr grinders will taste better than most conical burr grinders (like the 3 hand grinders above) https://df64coffee.com/products/df54 Slightly more upscale 2. DF64V v2 https://df64coffee.com/products/df64v-coffee-grinder Same flat burr - this one better suited for Robot (maybe you buy this later) The 64 has many burr options depending on what kind you like. --- When grinding fine for espresso, you need a grinder built with tolerances that let you adjust super fine cos will change flavour if you change grind size. The Robot doesn't have temperature control - so you can only control the amount of coffee used and grind size, so cheaper hand grinders won't work. There are hand grinders which can grind for espresso of course - like 1ZPresso JX-Pro, Comandante C40/C60, 1ZPresso K Ultra, but these are pretty expensive - plus it takes ages to grind manually. Electric is preferred - but you can consider that when you buy the Robot and are a bit more familiar with making coffee daily from beans at home. What is your budget?
