I think both are food safe. Just that Tritan probably higher melting point than the other plastic. The scratching will happen with all materials - cos the coffee grain between the rubber seal and the tritan wall will act like a mild abrasive. But I must add that the guys who have said their AP Clear has scratches .. they aren't the best at cleaning and they drink too much coffee - so might just pump out coffees with it, without washing properly between each brew. They have versions made with Tritan but not clear - semi transparent - so maybe you can grab one of those
