    • Ownself own ownself? The BMW owner who posted the viral video of himself cutting the cable ties to remove a car park barrier has been arrested for theft and mischief.   In a May 30 report, Stomp identified the man as Ah Hing, the boss of a company called Kian Heng Truck Body Builder in the West Connect building at 10 Buroh Street in Jurong West. He posted on Facebook at least four videos of himself cutting the cable ties to remove a carpark barrier outside the building on four separate occasions.   The first such video was posted on May 24. The one that went viral was posted on May 25.   The police said they were alerted on May 24 to the alleged theft of carpark barrier arms and mischief causing damage to the building management’s wheel clamps at Buroh Street. Through ground enquiries, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the 46-year-old suspect on the same day and subsequently arrested him on June 12. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man had allegedly used a metal cutter to damage two wheel-clamps, approximately valued at $500. He was further alleged to have removed the building’s carpark barrier arms and kept them in his shop premises within the building. The police said the man purportedly posted videos of his blatant acts on social media.   He will be charged in court on June 13 with the offences of theft and mischief. The offence of theft carries an imprisonment term of up to three years, a fine, or both while the offence of mischief carries an imprisonment term of up to two years, a fine, or both.
