📌 Mother’s Allegations
The mother, using the name Họ Nguyễn on Facebook, posted concerns starting July 16, 2026 about her 9-year-old daughter’s experience at Punggol Cove Primary School:
- Repeated bullying: Classmates used offensive language like calling her daughter "stupid" and saying "f**k you", and told the child such words were "normal". She also claimed a teacher responded inappropriately instead of protecting her daughter.
- Alleged sexual molestation: Her daughter reported being sexually molested twice by a classmate in the school hall.
- Dissatisfaction with handling: She felt school staff downplayed the seriousness, only suggesting changing her daughter’s seat as a solution. She also claimed staff later "blamed her daughter for lying", adding the child was terrified and cried in her sleep.
- Demands: She called for a thorough investigation, proper action, and a safe environment for all students, and said she may pursue legal action if unresolved. She also stated she had contacted the police.
📌 School’s Response
Principal Teo Whye Choo confirmed the school is investigating all claims and takes student safety seriously:
- October 2025 incident: A classmate used inappropriate language; the school reprimanded the student, who apologised, and informed both families.
- July 2, 2026: The girl reported improper physical contact to her form teacher; staff interviewed both students separately and contacted parents the same day.
- Latest statement: "Our teachers have followed up on each reported incident promptly and professionally, and have kept parents informed of the actions taken. We are working closely with those involved as investigations continue."
📌 Current Status (as of Jul 21, 2026)
- The school’s investigation is ongoing.
- No official statement has been released yet by the Ministry of Education.
- Stomp and other media are still seeking more details from the mother.
