The closure is part of a planned "major revamp" of the mall.   ### Key Details of the Closure  * **Phased Shutdown:** The closure will happen in stages.    * **August 2, 2026:** Six cinema halls will hold their final screenings.      * **August 16, 2026:** This is the official final day of operations for the remaining halls.    * **Reason:** The closure is driven by the landlord’s (Plaza Singapura/CapitaLand) plans for a major renovation of the mall.    * **Future Plans:** Golden Village currently has no confirmed plans regarding a potential return to the mall after the redevelopment.   ### Promotions for Patrons To mark the occasion, Golden Village is offering a farewell promotion:    * **Complimentary Snacks:** Customers who purchase two movie tickets online for screenings at the Plaza Singapura outlet will be entered to receive an e-voucher for a complimentary regular popcorn or Coca-Cola.    * **Availability:** There are 10,000 vouchers available. They can be redeemed from August 17 to October 31, 2026, at any of the remaining 16 Golden Village locations in Singapore.    * **Social Media Contest:** The chain is also hosting an Instagram contest where participants can share their favorite memories of the cinema for a chance to win a private screening party.   After this closure, Golden Village will continue to operate 16 other cinemas across Singapore, including nearby outlets at **GV Cineleisure, GV Bugis+, and GV Funan**.
