Last season, I got to collaborate with Blood Fire Death, a tribute project for this Swedish legend. “I then asked Erik [Danielsson] from Watain, who was singing this song during the project’s concerts, if he wouldn’t mind sharing at least one verse, so that I could also sing it. Seeing his reaction, I immediately understood he has as strong a connection with the song as I do, and he wasn’t about to share it with anyone. “When Michał Wardzała suggested that Behemoth should create the anthem for Mystic Festival, I was game immediately. I had only one condition — that it won’t be an original song, but a cover. ‘The Return Of Darkness And Evil’ has everything that’s needed — an anthem-like character, fantastic groove, great lyrics that I completely identify with, and an extremely catchy chorus. “I came to the conclusion, that it is the perfect song to embody the festival’s atmosphere and become its musical manifestation.”   You can check out the cover below and let us know what you think of it in the comments below. Vulvodynia Want You to Audition to Be Their New Vocalist Maybe the third time’s the charm? At least that’s the hope for South African deathcore outfit Vulvodynia, whose last two vocalists ended up not working out for some pretty wild reasons. Now, they’re on the hunt for a full-time replacement, kicking off an open audition process in which anyone can participate.   In the wake of previous vocalists removal, the band’s used guitarist Lwandile Prusent as their vocalist in the past. This time around, they released a pretty simple list of criteria in the candidates they want to consider for the job. You just have to make sure you’re familiar with their previous work Entabeni.     “Rules: Record a vocal cover of your favourite song from Entabeni (preferably one take) Post it on your socials and tag #vulvoauditions Email your audition video to [email protected] Auditions end on April 30th”   So there you have it. You have to cover a song from Vulvodynia’s 2024 album, you have to share a video of that cover on your social media profiles with the tag #vulvoauditions and email it to [email protected].
