Cos of this mah     One side of river got White House, Capitol Building, military base w/ chopper. Other side of river got airport, Pentagon, fancy title military folks - so chopper needs to do duty transport these guys here and there cos their time precious  cannot move around in cars.   Chopper routes around both sides of airport but the river side one is preferred cos less housing so uber rich and important people won't complain of low flying chopper noise   Same noise levels reason is why the planes are travelling along the river and then turning in on a short left to line up with the runway. Other airports, they'd have a long straight glide slope with the runway visible - but then the people who live that side would complain got noise.   Liddis also super high risk in the area where the planes are coming in to land at relatively low altitude and chopper is crossing. Chopper supposed to cross when plane not around - but what to do chopper pilot not on the game even after acknowledging twice that they can see the airplane
