    • While many Singaporeans may have only experienced kampongs through stories or old photographs, one such village, Kampong Lorong Buangkok, still stands today.  Valued at a staggering $70 million, its owner, Sng Mui Hong, has steadfastly refused to sell it. Madam Sng was recently interviewed by TikTok duo Wan and Zal who produce property-related content. Wan and Zal visited Kampong Lorong Buangkok which was bought in 1956 by Madam Sng's father, Sng Teow Koon, a traditional Chinese medicine seller. "This village has been here for 69 years," she said proudly in fluent Malay while sitting astride a bicycle.   Despite receiving several offers, she refused to break her promise to her late father that she would not sell the land. "He wanted me to keep this land for his children and grandchildren," she said.   She shared that she is determined to keep the village running for as long as she is alive and hopes that the next generation will continue the tradition. "They know my grandfather's promise and said they want to keep the land as it is," she said. Wan and Zal explained in their video that because the land is freehold, no authority can acquire it as long Madam Sng holds on to it. The video, which has over 730,000 views, has struck the hearts of netizens who admired Madam Sng's loyalty and were impressed at how fluent she is in Malay. "A real rich person but living a simple life," said one commenter. "Wow, one of the few people who aren't materialistic and keep their promises," said another TikTok user.
    • A woman was amused and impressed by her Tada driver selling his wife's handmade jewellery in his car. Stomper Christina even bought a bracelet after booking the ride with him on Aug 20. She recounted: "On the way back home, I came across this driver helping his wife selling jewellery inside his car. "it is a unique experience because I always book a ride home and the PHV (private-hire vehicle) driver usually has stickers on the back like 'no smoking, eating or drinking' but this driver had something else."   A sign hung on the back of the front passenger seat read: "Hi, do support my wife Shopee if you love handmade jewellery." It also listed the prices of the items for sale in the car. "And this made me laugh also. It says, 'Wife: Any questions, can ask my driver cum salesman'," said the Stomper. "I thought I would share this since I find the husband very supportive of his wife by helping her display all this, I know most guys have big egos and wouldn’t display all this girl stuff." The passenger bought the $12 bracelet for her friend. "She likes this bracelet stuff," explained the Stomper. She added that the driver was the very quiet type and didn’t talk much. "He did answer some of my questions like how long he drives like every day. He said he drives about 10 hours," said the Stomper.
