The_King Posted February 14, 2021 Share Posted February 14, 2021 PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded its highest ever Covid-19 recoveries in a day when 4,525 patients were discharged on Sunday (Feb 14). This means 213,814 people in Malaysia have recovered from the coronavirus since the pandemic began, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah. There are currently 49,490 active cases. Of this number, 260 are in intensive care units, with 111 on ventilator support. At the same time, the recoveries were more than the 2,464 new Covid-19 infections reported. The number of confirmed cases in the country now stands at 264,269. The last time the number of daily cases was below 2,500 was more than a month ago, on Jan 11. Seven people also died from the virus, bringing the death toll to 965. Selangor recorded the highest number of cases at 1,103, with 867 cases detected from existing clusters and screening of close contacts. Johor recorded 492 cases while Sarawak recorded 161 cases. A nine-year-old from Sabah who was suffering from medulloblastoma (cancerous brain tumour) was one of the victims of the disease.
