The_King Posted August 27, 2020 Share Posted August 27, 2020 A 20-YEAR-OLD woman in Sri Lanka killed herself after her mother hid her handphone and refused to give it back, Makkal Osai reported. Identified only as Hashazanaz, she had a boyfriend whom her mother objected to. The mother had told her to stop seeing the guy. But Hashazanaz continued to communicate with him using the handphone. In an attempt to end the relationship, the mother hid her gadget. This turned into a huge argument last Thursday and a frustrated Hashazanaz set herself on fire. She suffered extensive burns and died shortly after being hospitalised. > The daily also reported that a school in Ipoh planted 60 Ashoka trees in honour of activist Datuk Thasleem Mohamed Ibrahim who died in 2017. The Tamil school in Menglembu was the first among 50 schools adopted by Thasleem, who headed a civil society organisation.
