Just don't be too protective. I learned it the hard way when my mother and grandma was over-proctective of me when i was young. I only started part time job when i was in 1st year poly holiday whereas most of my classmates had done part time job during their sec sch days. My mother and grandma told me not need to work part time to earn $ but they never knew that i want to learn how to face the working society.
