Hundreds of bicycles are parked in the corridor of Yishun Shopping Center Nafucheng, which looks like a large bicycle parking lot. Some riders also parked their bicycles near the entrance of the shopping mall, which not only hindered access, but also posed a safety hazard.

The public, Mrs. Yang, broke the news to "8 Vision News Network" that the place is full of bicycles on weekdays, and some even park around the entrance of the mall, hindering the public from walking and entering and exiting. She hopes that the management can strengthen management, improve the safety of use and the appearance of the mall.

According to the reporter's observation, the knights who parked their bicycles there included office workers, employees of shopping malls, and some food delivery staff. The reporter made a rough calculation and found that there were more than 300 bicycles in two long rows, some of which were old and damaged, some had rusted brackets or no seats, and some had blown tires, apparently discarded there.

The public expects users to make good use of the facilities

Both the cyclists and the general public expressed that they hoped that users would do their part to make good use of the bicycle parking facilities provided by shopping malls and keep the shopping malls looking good. Some members of the public also expressed concern that the corridors full of bicycles will pose certain safety hazards, especially when the elderly and children pass by, they may fall due to bicycles blocking the road.

Ms. Lin, a 66-year-old woman who lives nearby, likes to use a bicycle instead of a bicycle. She said that she usually rides a bicycle to Nafu City, and also rides home after finishing her work. She said: "It's very convenient here, and I hope everyone maintains the good habit of 'running away', which is good for everyone."

38-year-old Ms. Gongyun said that she has a young child, and there are too many bicycles, messy and crowded, and she is worried about bumping into them when walking.

Seniors won't use double decker racks

In fact, there is a covered double-decker bicycle parking area in this corridor, but according to the reporter's observation, some riders would rather park their bicycles in the open-air aisle and let the sun and rain come here than park their bicycles in a parking lot. The vacancy on the upper level.

In this regard, Ms. Lin admitted that she would not use the upper parking racks; 50-year-old Ms. Kang said that although she could use them, it was quite difficult for her to put her bicycle on the upper floor. She said: "It's a little hard for us girls, it's too heavy."

Proposal to remove abandoned bicycles

In addition, the parking place is also occupied by some abandoned bicycles. In this regard, the public hopes that car owners can voluntarily remove the abandoned bicycles, or that the management of the mall can intervene to make room for people who really need to use them.

Ms. Lin said: "Those bicycles that have not been removed have been kept here for a year, two years, three, four, five years, and they are still there."

Spokesperson of the shopping mall: more than 1,400 bicycles can be placed on the ground floor of the shopping mall

The management of Naf City was questioned and pointed out that the mall seamlessly connects Yishun MRT station and bus interchange in order to encourage the public to adopt green travel and use bicycles as a means of transportation.

The spokesperson said: "We have built free bicycle parking facilities on the ground floor and basement of the North and South Plazas of the mall, which can park about 1,440 bicycles in total. In addition, there are additional designated bicycle parking spaces for food delivery staff at the entrance of the mall. Great convenience for work.”

The shopping mall also specially built a ramp at the entrance to facilitate the public to push bicycles into and out of the basement.

Regarding the above-mentioned corridors full of bicycles, the spokesperson said that the management has placed indicator plates and boundary chains on the pillars of the corridors and other conspicuous places, and urged users to follow the instructions and park their bicycles in designated parking spaces. Relevant departments cooperate to remove abandoned bicycles.

The spokesperson apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
