Hundreds of bicycles are parked in the corridor of Yishun Shopping Center Nafucheng, which looks like a large bicycle parking lot. Some riders also parked their bicycles near the entrance of the shopping mall, which not only hindered access, but also posed a safety hazard.

According to the reporter's observation, the knights who parked their bicycles there included office workers, employees of shopping malls, and some food delivery staff. The reporter made a rough calculation and found that there were more than 300 bicycles in two long rows, some of which were old and damaged, some had rusted brackets or no seats, and some had blown tires, apparently discarded there.

Some members of the public also expressed concern that the corridors full of bicycles will pose certain safety hazards, especially when the elderly and children pass by, they may fall due to bicycles blocking the road.

Ms. Lin, a 66-year-old woman who lives nearby, likes to use a bicycle instead of a bicycle. She said that she usually rides a bicycle to Nafu City, and also rides home after finishing her work. Seniors won't use double decker racks

In fact, there is a covered double-decker bicycle parking area in this corridor, but according to the reporter's observation, some riders would rather park their bicycles in the open-air aisle and let the sun and rain come here than park their bicycles in a parking lot. Spokesperson of the shopping mall: more than 1,400 bicycles can be placed on the ground floor of the shopping mall

The management of Naf City was questioned and pointed out that the mall seamlessly connects Yishun MRT station and bus interchange in order to encourage the public to adopt green travel and use bicycles as a means of transportation.

The spokesperson said: "We have built free bicycle parking facilities on the ground floor and basement of the North and South Plazas of the mall, which can park about 1,440 bicycles in total. The shopping mall also specially built a ramp at the entrance to facilitate the public to push bicycles into and out of the basement.

Regarding the above-mentioned corridors full of bicycles, the spokesperson said that the management has placed indicator plates and boundary chains on the pillars of the corridors and other conspicuous places, and urged users to follow the instructions and park their bicycles in designated parking spaces. Relevant departments cooperate to remove abandoned bicycles.
