The_King
A popular boba tea chain has spilled into Singapore with teas that might do less damage than the regulars. Cupfy, a tea house specializing in Oolong, is now delivering a selection of close to 30 drinks to your doorstep in lieu of a shop. The brand, which launched locally last week, promises less bloating in the tummy with fewer calories and reduced sugar from raw cane or natural sucrose. Maltitol, a diabetic-friendly sugar alternative, is also available. The Oolong-based drinks are brewed with leaves grown in Taiwan’s Lugu Township, which they say is the largest tea-producing town on the island nation. The tea goes through several rounds of fermentation and roasting to get its signature blends. The drinks are made with golden Oolong, Tie Guan Yin (jasmine green tea) and even cold brew coffee. The new Fresh Milk series includes the Honey Golden Taro Ball Fresh Milk Tea (S$6.80) which has chewy taro balls, and the Tie Guan Yin Fresh Milk Tea (S$5.40) which is a strongly roasted thirst quencher. Other fan favorites are Vanilla Creme Brulee Foam Top with Tie Guan Yin (S$7.30) which has a sweet and salty vanilla cheese foam, the Oreo & Salted Butter Milk Tea (S$7.40), and the Arabica Cold Brew Coffee w Vanilla Creme Brulee Foam Top (S$7.50). Of course, tea drinks feel incomplete without munching on toppings. The brand makes its own taro puree, taro balls, grass and Aiyu jellies, as well as squeeze freshly zested grapefruit and lime juice. Cupfy prides itself on being sustainable with paper cups and biodegradable straws. It also says it donates a portion of sales to sustainability-friendly companies. From now till March 16, the brand is giving a 1-for-1 promo in celebration of its launch. Cupfy is available to order via the Grab app.
