Sengkang Town Council (SKTC) has clarified that a project manager charged with corruption offences was not its employee.
In a press release seen by MS News on Friday (21 Aug), SKTC said the charges concerned an employee of EM Services, which provided managing agent and project management services to the town council during the period in question.

Sengkang Town Council (SKTC) has clarified that a project manager recently facing corruption charges is not its employee, but rather worked for its contractor, EM Services.
Key details of the case and clarification include:
* The Charges: Senior project manager Phua Gim Chuan (aged 63) was charged by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) with six corruption and money laundering-related offences involving approximately S$220,000 in alleged bribes regarding town council contracts.
* The Employer: SKTC emphasized in its press release that the individual was an employee of EM Services, the firm that provided managing agent and project management services to the town council during the relevant period.
* Tender Clarification: SKTC also noted that the companies implicated in the bribery case did not participate in or win any public tenders called by Sengkang Town Council.
