⚠️ Full Details: Fake GST Voucher Telegram Scam (July 2026)
Source: https://tsl.to/gstvoucherscam | via @mustsharenews
🎯 How the scam works
- Fake promise: Claims you can get $860–$1,000 GST Voucher starting July 2026 — this is wrong. Actual payouts: up to $850 for eligible adults, $450 for seniors, credited in August.
- Impersonation: Messages appear forwarded from a fake “gov.sg” Telegram channel (share link: sgredeem2026 ), with copied official-style graphics — but no blue verification tick.
- Malicious link: Tells you to click a dub.sh link to check eligibility — not an official gov.sg domain.
- What happens if you click:
- Your Telegram account gets hacked/taken over.
- The scam message is automatically sent to ALL your contacts — you become an unwitting spreader.
- You may be tricked into giving NRIC, name, mobile number, or Singpass details .
- Sent messages can only be deleted for yourself, not others.
✅ Official facts & warnings
- MOF does NOT use Telegram to contact people — only SMS from sender “gov.sg”, or letters if no Singpass-registered mobile .
- Legitimate notifications: No links, no replies needed, no personal info asked — benefits are credited automatically.
- Official sites only end in .gov.sg — ignore all other domains.
- MOF confirmed the scam in a 14 Jul Facebook post; police have repeatedly warned of such fake channels .
