'Miss World Chile' & DECESSUS Vocalist IGNACIA FERNÁNDEZ Featured On KAMELOT's "Ashen World"
Off their forthcoming record 'Dark Asylum,' out August 28.
Florida power metal band Kamelot just dropped their new single "Ashen World," with a special guest feature from Decessus vocalist and 2025 Miss World Chile winner, Ignacia Fernández. The track comes off the band's upcoming release Dark Asylum, which comes out August 28 via Napalm Records. Listen to the single below.
It’s a deep dive into the topography of the human mind, exploring its valleys, peaks, and the void in between," Kamelot vocalist Tommy Karevik said about the song. "It’s about breaking free from the limiting beliefs that hold us captive and creating a new reality that allows us to expand and realize our full potential."
In late August, Kamelot will start the North American leg of their "Dark Asylum World Tour," with Visions of Atlantis and Frozen Crown in tow as support. The European leg starts in October, where they'll be joined by Exit Eden and Temperance.

ALISSA WHITE-GLUZ Talks With Metal Injection About New Music, BLUE MEDUSA, And More
Alissa White-Gluz sat down with Metal Injection ahead of the release of the new Blue Medusa single, "Flying Monkey," to talk about her newest project.
Company Director Frank Godla sat down with Alissa White-Gluz of Blue Medusa ahead of the release of their newest single, "Flying Monkey," to discuss her recent career moves, the important of evaluating your own life and making changes according to those reflections, how she came to form Blue Medusa and the message the band is sending.
After releasing "Checkmate" earlier in the year, this is the band's second release since – an explosive track that "is exactly the kind of music I want to be making," White-Gluz said about the most recent single. "I am so inspired by Dani [Sophia] and Alyssa [Day]. This Blue Medusa album is almost like writing my memoirs and I have loved every aspect of creating it."
Guitarist Dani Sophia chimed in to say that the song was "written in this really liminal space, this waiting area in-between chapters in my life, and the melodies reflect the themes of the nightmares I was having at the time. No matter where I was, I kept hearing an out-of-tune music box playing in the distance." With Alyssa Day adding that "the bridge section of “Flying Monkey” gave me a fun space to stretch outside my usual harmonic comfort zone and play with some scales and sequences I don’t always reach for. It turned into this quirky, sassy, techy little solo that I genuinely love playing. We had a blast shooting the video too, and I’m really excited for everyone to finally see and hear this one.”
