A 25-year-old Singaporean man died in Malaysia after he was flung off his motorcycle while on an overpass in Jalan Tambak Johor, the Malaysia side of the Causeway.
According to a Facebook post by the Johor Bahru South District Police on May 27, the incident occurred that day at about 3:20am.
The deceased, who worked as a nurse, was travelling from Bukit Chagar towards the checkpoint at Bangunan Sultan Iskandar.
Mistakenly entered car lane
Preliminary investigations revealed that the man mistakenly entered the car lane before attempting to make a U-turn against the flow of traffic.
He was believed to have lost control, skidded onto the right side of the road, then crashed into a road barrier and slid into a sharp bend.
He was then thrown off his motorcycle and fell from an overpass approximately 10m high.
He was found on the lorry lane from Singapore to Malaysia with severe head injuries, as well as wounds and abrasions on several parts of the body.
He was pronounced dead on site.
He was taken to a local hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Investigations are ongoing
