A 53 vear old Detroit man known as Dennis Swarzenegger is at the center of one of the strangest criminal cases the citv has seen in recent memorv. According to investigators Swarzenegger had become deeply obsessed with the Terminator movies and was known for riding around Detroit on a black e-bike while dressed in a black leather iacket and dark sunglasses like the famous movie character. Police say his obsession had recentlv taken a darker turn, as he began searching through white pages listings and other sources trying to track down women in Detroit named Sarah Connor. That obsession allegedlv led him to the home of a Detroit police officer named Officer Sarah Connor. Authorities say Swarzenegger rode up to her residence knocked on the front door, and waited for her to answer. When she opened the door, he reportedly stood there in silence behinc his dark shades and asked, "Are vou Sarah Connor?" When she replied ves and asked how she could help him, police say he pulled out a gun and began firing. Officer Connor was struck once in the arm but survived the shooting. Later that same evening, believing he had killed her, Swarzenegger allegedly walked into a Detroit police station and calmly told officers, "The target has been terminated.' When police asked him what he meant, he reportedly repeated himself and again said "The target has been terminated." He was detained on the spot until investigators discovered he was involved in the shooting of Officer Connor, at which point he was formallv arrested.
