Alexandria - Surveillance cameras captured the moment the microbus collided with a group of pedestrians, two families from Cairo who had come to Alexandria for a summer vacation.
Alexandria's investigation authorities have ordered the seizure of surveillance cameras and the vehicle involved in a horrific accident that killed two people and injured seven others after a microbus collided with pedestrians on the Shatby Corniche.
According to investigations, the families had stopped in the Shatby area to wait for a broker to prepare their summer resort units. As they crossed the road to take souvenir photos by the sea, one of the family members attempted to stop traffic to ensure their safe passage, but a speeding microbus struck them violently.
The accident resulted in the death of Ali Abdel Halim Abdel Hamid (50 years old) and Hiam Salah Morsi Al-Sayed (47 years old), and seven others were injured with injuries ranging from compound fractures, suspected brain hemorrhage, vertebral fractures, and lacerations.
Security and traffic forces, accompanied by six ambulances, responded to the scene. The injured were transported to Al-Amiri University Hospital for treatment, while the bodies were transferred to the morgue pending the Public Prosecution's disposal.
