SANGUISUGABOGG Drop NSFW "Rotted Entanglement" Video Featuring Plenty Of Guts
Get gross.
Ohio's unrelenting death metal mutants Sanguisugabogg have unleashed the NSFW video for their crushing new single "Rotted Entanglement," the latest preview from their upcoming full-length Hideous Aftermath, due out October 10 via Century Media. The record promises to be the band's most extreme, refined, and death metal-centric effort yet — a definitive leap from their already grotesque and unflinching catalog.
Directed by vocalist Devin Swank and Josh Nunn, the "Rotted Entanglement" video was shot in the band's hometown of Columbus and delivers all the expected chaos and grime fans have come to love — but this time with a sharpened focus and violent intent. The band described it simply: "Break your neck to 'Rotted Entanglement!'"
Hideous Aftermath was recorded with none other than Kurt Ballou (Converge, Nails, High on Fire) at the legendary God City Studios in Salem, MA. While Sanguisugabogg drummer Cody Davidson has traditionally handled production, the band this time handed the reins entirely over to Ballou to dial in a more ferocious and focused sound.
Sanguisugabogg vocalist Devin Swank elaborated: "It's definitely our most death metal record, our most personal record, our most focused and brutal record to date. It's the one where we rolled our sleeves up and brought our A-game."
Known for their unfiltered gore-drenched imagery and absurdist humor, Sanguisugabogg have grown from underground oddities into one of death metal's most polarizing and promising voices. With past records Tortured Whole in 2021 and Homicidal Ecstasy in 2023, they carved out a reputation for making the vile palatable — and even fun. On Hideous Aftermath, they've fully weaponized their identity.
On their popularity, Swank added: "We were a band that was set up to do nothing or a lot of something. Why normies ever ended up liking it was weird. Who knows? Maybe we made pain and suffering fun."

Sanguisugabogg also has a North American tour coming up with Despised Icon, Defeated Sanity, and Corpse Pile. Check that out right here.
