When Sim arrived on the morning of May 19, 2026, he encountered a male hairstylist smoking outside. Despite there being only two customers receiving hair treatments inside, the hairstylist rudely told Sim that he was busy and instructed him to return another day. Sim stood his ground and insisted on getting his hair done, initiating a series of frustrating hurdles. The situation escalated when salon staff questioned the validity of the voucher, which Sim’s elderly mother had purchased from that exact outlet as part of a booklet costing around S$60 to S$70. Even though the voucher displayed a clear stamped expiration date of November 2027, the hairstylist openly doubted if it was legitimately purchased. Sim spent 20 minutes on the phone with the Snip Avenue HQ to verify the tickets, but Bishan staff continued to demand the exact purchase date. Sensing that the unnecessary delays were getting out of hand, Sim called the police. Upon their arrival, the staff instantly did a complete 180-degree turn in attitude, and Sim finally received his haircut. Sim noted that online Google Maps reviews reveal long wait times and similar recurring issues where staff refuse to honour bulk tickets by claiming they have no time. He also shared that his mother fell victim to high-pressure sales tactics, being pressured into buying a second booklet before a supposed price increase despite her past negative experiences.
