An exhibition about the Star Wars franchise will open in Singapore later this month.

According to several reports, the ArtScience Museum will host “Star Wars Identities: The Exhibition” from January 30 to June 13.

The exhibition will feature nearly 200 items from the films, taken from the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles. There will be sections that delve into main characters like Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Yoda, Chewbacca, and Boba Fett.

According to the Straits Times, the exhibition will focus on the original trilogy saga of Star Wars (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983). Also covered are the prequels (1999 to 2005), the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008 to 2020) and the film Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015).

On display are original props, artworks, costumes, and starship models like the Millennium Falcon and an Imperial Star Destroyer. Star Wars fans can also be able to view concept drawings, storyboards, model-making techniques, designs, and puppetry from the franchise.

Tickets go on sale on January 15 at S$25 for adults and a S$80 family package for two adults and two children. Find more details here.

“Star Wars Identities uses original artwork from the epic space saga to explore human identity in an innovative way,” museum director Honor Harger said, as quoted by Coconuts Singapore.

“As visitors embark on a voyage of discovery in the exhibition, we encourage them to ponder the motivation and forces that shape who we are as individuals.”

Visitors can also take part in an interactive feature billed the ‘Identity Quest’ where they can find a role and identity in the Star Wars universe.

The movie exhibition has previously opened in cities such as Montreal, Paris, and Vienna since 2012, and is reportedly in the last leg of its tour.

In recent Star Wars news, a long-standing Yoda plot hole from the original trilogy has been resolved, thanks to the new book From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back.

Darth Vader was also recently voted the greatest Star Wars villain of all time in a Radio Times poll that tallied 10,000 votes for 16 baddies in the franchise.
