- Time: Around 10am
- Location: Near entrance of multi‑storey carpark at Block 548 Woodlands Drive 44, beside Vista Point
- Vehicle: Red Mercedes‑Benz EQA electric vehicle
🧾 Driver’s Account
- The owner bought the car less than three years ago for about S$230,000, with no prior issues.
- As she was about to leave the carpark, she smelt smoke/burning odour and stopped immediately.
- Smoke emerged from between the driver and front passenger seats — where the EV’s battery pack is located.
- She tried using her car’s small fire extinguisher and called security guards for help, but the fire spread very fast; they stopped for fear of explosion.
- She later told media she felt lucky it happened there, not on an expressway.
🚒 Official Response
- SCDF was alerted at ~10.10am; firefighters put out the blaze with one water jet.
- No injuries reported.
- The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
