A man was almost dead after his feet 'swallowed' the garbage mill, while he was trying to dump the garbage attached to the machine to allow it to operate again.

In the incident on Monday evening at a factory located in Samseong, Seoul, South Korea, the victim, Daniel Arif Ahmad Fuad, 21, almost lost half his limbs.

The two-month-old worker in the country was reported to be in critical condition and was given sleep medication by Suwon Ajudae Hospital and Daniel had to undergo a second surgery to cut the base of his thigh due to bacterial infections.

The victim's father, Ahmad Fuad Yun, 52, said he was surprised to inform her son about the incident.

"I really do not want to go there first (working), sad, anyone will be sad, but we are Muslims, we accept qada and qadar of Allah," he said.

Meanwhile, a friend of the victim, Shahir, 25, recounted the incident about at 3 pm, the garbage grinder machine was stuck causing Daniel to dig the trash attached to the blender.

At the time of the incident, the engine was closed and Daniel Arif was directed to dump the garbage from inside, while other workers were busy fixing it.

"But not knowing how after more than an hour, the machine was running 'itself' even though it was shut down using the remote control resulting in Daniel's half body being thrown from the thigh to the foot.

"Recognizing the incident, factory supervisors kept running and pressed the emergency switch to stop the machine before contacting the ambulance.

"After the ambulance arrived, the firefighters and the hospital had taken more than two hours to cut Daniel's legs before he was released and then he was in a state of consciousness," he said.

It is understood that they do not know the medical bills that will be charged by the hospital.

Daniel's parents are also expected to arrive in the country on signing a surgical permit form.

Hence, Shahir hopes that Malaysians can contribute to ease the burden of Daniel and his family by channeling donations to Maybank's account 157090003447 in the name of Daniel's mother, Zainah Mohamad.
