Bear123 Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 Recently I attended a talk about wills and LPA and it seems a lot of people don’t know much about them or “leave it to later”. What about you all? Have you done a will and/or LPA? Are you afraid of death? Have you seen people dying or ghosts? 1
Bear123 Posted November 29, 2024 Author Posted November 29, 2024 Let me kick off here. Not done any will or LPA though I have done CPF nomination I am an emergency nurse and one thing about they patients who come in and die is that when they went to bed the previous night, they did not know they wouldn’t wake up in the morning OR if they woke up in the morning, they didn’t know that would be their last day on earth. Mostly cos if they knew, chances are they are in hospital, hospice or under some kind of hospice/palliative care at home

Standing Birdy Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 Did LPA. Also did AMD for parent. But a nurse told me at hospital they will always resuscitate, even if family member tells them patient has AMD, because that is SOP and they have no time to verify. No will because don't need special treatment for now. Intestate succession is ok.

Its always better to resuscitate and then realise no need vs no resuscitation and then realise actually need. But this is more applicable to emergency department. Shouldn’t be so in the wards

Shouldn’t be so in the wards Think it applies for life support and not for CPR. Even in ward, if someone needs CPR they will prolly do it and not waste time to check.

Cos sometimes patients are already terminally ill so no point doing CPR if 0 status like new admission or not really ill in the first place (maybe just recovering from elective operation) then yes, do CPR 1

If i pass away i want to die in my sleep peacefully. I rather face struggles in my younger days than facing struggles in my old age 1 Shalala lala la la ~ 🌠
