*blinks hard* woah, what kind of garbage specs are these for that price point... You're much better off with a Miniforums or Beelink mini pc, if you're worried about warranty, Beelink has local sellers that offer warrant too.

@Huat Zai

can recommand me a brand for mobo, gpu, ram? mainly focus on components quality and cooling( cause better cooling or less hotspot mean components will last longer)

mobo in order: MSI, asrock ( Taichi only)  then giga

GPU:

AMD: Sapphire, XFX

nvidia: MSI, giga

which model to get will go for newegg most review like for mobo

Honestly never built my own pc before (shocking I know), so don't know about mobo. Usually GPU I go for AMD or Nvidia,  Ram Crucial or Kingston.

and now it bad time to get laptop, cause new cpu is releasing soon end Q3 or early Q4

Heng AMD decided to drop the stupid P-core / E-core shit, tiagong it's terrible for running virtual machines.

Wa knn .. wasted 1hr installing Debian on the laptop with a relatively large ISO .. installed so much nonsense by default that a bit pissed off. Weekend maybe do a netinstall and put only what I need

Thankfully most of the hardware seems supported - install with ethernet - upgrade, then wifi works

so far i only hear of the famous one liek beelink, miniforus, the rest is unknown. i think i stick with these 2 brand or a laptop

This one confirm setup a shop in USA to cater to the "Made in USA" crowd - but confirm all parts made in China / Taiwan / SK :D

Find similar spec one from your favoured brands can liao

i think is this setup not bad

ITX casing: Tecware Fusion Steel ITX (support matx and atx psu) = $83

PSU: seasonic 860watt platinum (my old psu)  = Free

NVMe  SSD= WD black 1TB (my old ssd) = Free

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500GT = $160

Ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB = $60

GPU: IGPU = free

Mobo:

https://www.newegg.com/msi-mag-b550m-mortar-max-wifi/p/N82E16813144636 = $202

https://www.newegg.com/asrock-b550m-steel-legend/p/N82E16813157940 = $168

= $471 to $505 + taxes = $510 to $550

i think i build a matx better, a lot cheaper. Ryzen 5 5500GT is like 750m instead of the 780m i am seeking but i can upgrade to a cheap <$150 in future if needed

this cpu 5500GT say 80wat on average  vs mini pc say on average 10watt = diff is 70watt

say i use 6hr per day = 420watt per day = 420 divide by 1000 = 0.42 kWh = 0.42 X 31days = 13.02kWh = 156.24 kWh per year = 156.24 X 0.32cents = $50 = 10yr to break even

in short in order to save 70watt, i need to save Extra $500 for the cost of the device and it take 10yr to break even, i dont even know if my device can last that long.

muhahahaha

option: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500GT = $160 (+ ram = $220) replace with AMD Ryzen 5 5600GT with free Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3200 = $175
