You're much better off with a Miniforums or Beelink mini pc, if you're worried about warranty, Beelink has local sellers that offer warrant too. 1

The_King Posted May 14, 2024 Posted May 14, 2024 (edited) @Huat Zai can recommand me a brand for mobo, gpu, ram? mainly focus on components quality and cooling( cause better cooling or less hotspot mean components will last longer) mobo in order: MSI, asrock ( Taichi only) then giga GPU: AMD: Sapphire, XFX nvidia: MSI, giga which model to get will go for newegg most review like for mobo https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?N=601406716 100007625&d=amd+motherboard&Order=5&PageSize=96 Edited May 14, 2024 by The_King

coffeenut Posted May 16, 2024 Posted May 16, 2024 Wa knn .. wasted 1hr installing Debian on the laptop with a relatively large ISO .. installed so much nonsense by default that a bit pissed off. Weekend maybe do a netinstall and put only what I need Thankfully most of the hardware seems supported - install with ethernet - upgrade, then wifi works 1

Ryzen 5 5500GT is like 750m instead of the 780m i am seeking but i can upgrade to a cheap <$150 in future if needed this cpu 5500GT say 80wat on average vs mini pc say on average 10watt = diff is 70watt say i use 6hr per day = 420watt per day = 420 divide by 1000 = 0.42 kWh = 0.42 X 31days = 13.02kWh = 156.24 kWh per year = 156.24 X 0.32cents = $50 = 10yr to break even in short in order to save 70watt, i need to save Extra $500 for the cost of the device and it take 10yr to break even, i dont even know if my device can last that long. muhahahaha option: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500GT = $160 (+ ram = $220) replace with AMD Ryzen 5 5600GT with free Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3200 = $175 https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-5-5600gt-ryzen-5-5000-series/p/N82E16819113816 sauce: https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232880 https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-5-5500gt-ryzen-5-5000-series/p/N82E16819113817?Item=N82E16819113817 Edited May 23, 2024 by The_King
