Waste $$$ to care + make everyone suffer mentally/physically + the ah gong/ah ma has 0 memory of family/caregiver efforts to keep them alive until their last breath...

This is true.

My late maternal grandma suffered from it. At that time it's only known as 老人痴呆症 and nothing much is studied.

I seen her degraded from someone i knew until someone completely different(until her last breath)

Dementia is NOT part of normal aging. It's a mental illness.

There are different degree of dementia.   Some people at 40s have it!

Some are just lost of memory & keep repeating questions. Some have memory trap to the past & some dont forget who are the family members.  Some can get violent!  These are some of the symptoms of dementia!

This movie above shows the common symptoms & its sad to watch how our brains will slowly loose its function.

Most of us will go through this stage! :wail:

The care giver will suffer a lot too!  Thats why family outsource the care giving to maids who are not trained to care for dementia person!   Thats where the abuse happens!
