DESCRIPTION:\n	Phase 1\n\n\n\n	\n\n	When? Starting June 2.\n\n\n\n	 \n\
n\n\n	For how long? This phase is expected to last for a few weeks\, until
before the end of June.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Activities that can resume\n\n
\n\n	\n\n	Most retail outlets and other personal services will not re-open
in Phase One.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Hairdressers will be allowed to offer th
eir full range of hairdressing services.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	All home-based
businesses that operate using a delivery/ collection model will also be a
llowed to resume.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	In this phase\, you are still not all
owed to visit your friends or significant others.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Each
household will only be allowed to visit their parents or grandparents stay
ing elsewhere\, capped at a limit of two visitors from the same visiting h
ousehold per day.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Children can be dropped off at parent
s’ and grandparents’ homes for childcare\, subject to the same cap.\n\
n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Most offices can also re-open\, but telecommuting should
be the main mode of work.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Those who have been working f
rom home so far should continue to do so.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	There will al
so be a gradual resumption of healthcare services\, and mosques will offer
limited spaces for individual prayer to cater to the needs of mobile esse
ntial workers.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Phase 2: Expect almost the entire econom
y to re-open\n\n\n\n	\n\n	When? Phase 2 could happen before the end of Jun
e if the community infection rates remain low and stable over the two week
s (from June 2).\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	The authorities will decide by the mid
dle of June to proceed with Phase Two.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	For how long? Ph
ase 2 is expected to last for months.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Activities that c
an resume\n\n\n\n	\n\n	In this phase\, almost the entire economy will be e
xpected to re-open\, with most business activities allowed to resume opera
	tions.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	These include:\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	\n Retail out
	lets\n	\n	\n F&amp\;B dine-in\n	\n	\n Personal health and wellness servi
ces (examples are likely to include facials\, spa treatments)\n	\n	\n Hom
	e-based services\n	\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	In other words\, malls will be open
.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Sports and other public facilities like stadiums\, gy
ms\, and swimming pools will be opened too if they can provide a safe envi
	ronment for patrons.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Small-group social gatherings of u
p to five persons will be allowed.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Within the home\, ho
useholds may also receive up to five visitors per day.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n
Activities that will have to be considered more carefully \n\n\n\n	 \n\n\
n\n	Activities in higher risk settings will have to be considered more car
efully\, and are not likely to open at the beginning of Phase 2.\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n	These activities involve large groups or close contacts in encl
	osed spaces\, and include:\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	\n Museums\n	\n	\n Librari
	es\n	\n	\n Religious services and congregations\n	\n	\n Cinemas\n	\n	\n
		Theaters\n	\n	\n Bars\n	\n	\n Clubs and discos\n	\n	\n Karaoke outlets
	\n	\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Other large-scale events and venues\, such as confe
rences\, exhibitions\, concerts and trade fairs will also have to be caref
ully considered.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	In a Facebook post on May 29\, Ministe
r for National Development Lawrence Wong referred to this category of venu
es and said: \"It may not be at the start of Phase 2 but could happen late
r.\"\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	The authorities will be discussing with the releva
nt entities on the timing of when they can resume activities.\n\n\n\n	 \n
\n\n\n	It is likely that such activities will resume at a later date withi
	n Phase 2\, depending on how things go.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	However\, limit
	s\, such as the size of gatherings\, will be imposed.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	T
	imeline not \"cast in stone\"\n\n\n\n	\n\n	This timeline\, however\, is \"
not cast in stone\"\, Wong said\, and the situation will have to be monito
red closely at every stage.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	\"If there are people actin
g recklessly and breaching the rules when the circuit breaker ends\, then
new clusters will surely form and we could be set back by weeks.\"\n\n

DESCRIPTION:\n	Things you need to know about Singapore's 'circuit breake
r' measures\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	What you can and can't do from April 7 till Jun
	e 1\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	On Friday\, April 3\, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loon
g gave new meaning to the phrase 'circuit breaker'. To most people\, it re
fers to a safety device that stops the flow of current in an electric circ
uit\, but to people living in Singapore\, it means hunkering down at home
in order to break the chain of transmissions of Covid-19 in the community.
\n\n\n\n	The circuit breaker was meant to last till May 4\, but in April 2
1\, PM Lee addressed the nation once more\, extending the circuit breaker
measures till June 1. With new rules in place\, we know that you have even
more questions about what can and can't be done in Singapore. Let us help
clear the air and break down the restrictions for you.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n
When does this start and end?\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Circuit breaker measures sta
rt on April 7 and now end on June 1. It was initially supposed to end on M
ay 4\, but due to a rising number of community cases\, the CB has been ext
ended.\n\n\n\n	Hopefully\, if we all play our part and stay home\, we migh
t be able to go back to work\, visit friends and dine in at restaurants ag
ain in June. But this can only happen if we all play a part to stay in for
the next month or so and flatten the curve.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Am I allow
ed to leave the house?\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Please stay home as much as possible
. You should only go out for daily essentials like takeout or groceries. Y
ou can also leave the house to seek medical attention or other services li
ke banking or the mailing of items but do try to run your errands as quick
ly as possible. \n\n\n\n	It is now compulsory to wear a mask if you're ou
t – the only exception is if you're under two years old or if you're doi
ng strenuous exercises like running. You should also carry out these tasks
alone to reduce the amount of family movement\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	How abou
t for some fresh air?\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Recreational activities like goin
g for a walk\, run or a bike ride around your neighbourhood are permitted.
However\, you have to do so alone. As of April 10\, all sports stadiums a
re closed because people continued to flout rules and came together to exe
rcise. Popular beaches such as East Coast Park\, Changi Beach Park\, Pasir
Ris Park\, Punggol Point Park\, Sembawang Park and West Coast Park are al
so closed.\n\n\n\n	If you live near a park\, this real-time map produced b
y NParks allows you to check how crowded public parks are before heading d
	own.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Can I visit family and friends?\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	As
of April 7\, private social gatherings of any size\, in homes or public sp
aces\, are banned under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) Bill. If your fa
mily lives in the same household as you\, then yes\, you can \"visit\" the
m because you stay together. But beyond that\, you shouldn't be hopping fr
om flat to flat to check in and see how your family and friends are doing.
\n\n\n\n	Don't organise social gatherings with family or friends\, especia
lly if this includes grandparents and those who are more at risk. However\
, you can help elderly parents or grandparents above 60 years old with the
ir daily needs if necessary. You are also not allowed to drop off your chi
ldren at their grandparent's place.\n\n\n\n	However\, you can still keep i
n contact with family and friends through the wonders of technology. Organ
ise virtual meetups on Google Hangouts\, Zoom or even Houseparty. Here's a
handy guide on how to use it to call friends and even play games like Hea
ds Up! on the app. You can also put a smile on their faces by ordering the
	m a meal or some flowers.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	How about my boyfriend/girlfr
	iend/partner?\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Sorry\, if you're not currently living wi
th your boyfriend/girlfriend/partner then you can't visit them. Try organi
sing an online date to spend quality time together.\n\n\n\n	Single? Downlo
ad some dating apps and start swiping – it might be a refreshing change
to take the time and get to know someone better before meeting IRL. Plus i
f you can't carry on a conversation till June then they probably aren't th
	e one anyway.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	What if I break the rules?\n\n	 \n\n\n\n
		Well\, instead of getting a written warning\, you'll instantly be fined $
300 if you're caught by flouting safe distancing rules such as not lining
up at least 1m away from the people around you. There are more than 3\,100
enforcement officers or safe distancing ambassadors currently patrolling
the island. Repeat offenders face stiffer penalties including prosecution
in court. You could also be fined up to $10\,000 and face imprisonment for
holding private or public social gatherings.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	How can I
still get food and drinks from my favourite venues?\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Food a
nd beverage outlets like restaurants\, hawker centres\, coffeeshops and fo
od courts are still open for takeaway and some also offer delivery options
.\n\n\n\n	Check out our list of restaurants offering takeaway and delivery
\, bars with takeaway bottled cocktails and hawkers that are now offering
delivery. These lists are constantly being updated so keep them bookmarked
	 for more food and drink inspiration.\n\n\n\n	Unfortunately\, McDonald's r
emains closed for the foreseeable future\, but you can get burgers deliver
ed from these alternatives instead.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	What about bubble t
	ea???\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	As of April 21\, all \"less critical\" services must
shut including standalone stores that sell only beverages\, packaged sweet
s\, confectionaries\, or desserts.\n\n\n\n	This means kiosks selling bubbl
e tea\, fruit juices\, soya milk and smoothies\; stores that predominantly
sell liquor\, wine and beer\; snack shops that retail cheeses\, packaged
snacks\, bak kwa and other loose snacks\; as well as dessert shops that se
ll ice cream\, yoghurt\, cakes\, cupcakes\, and other confectionaries will
be closed till June 1.\n\n\n\n	However\, those located in hawker centres\
, food courts\, and coffeeshops may continue to operate.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\
	n	Can I still go shopping?\n\n\n\n	\n\n	If it's for essential services\, s
ure. If it's for a new outfit so that you look cute in your Work From Home
Zoom call\, then no\, unless you're shopping online. You can shop at supe
rmarkets\, convenience stores\, grocery retailers and wholesale\, hardware
stores and wet markets.\n\n\n\n	However\, entry to certain markets and we
t markets are now restricted through an odd-even date system based on NRIC
numbers. Check your IC number – if it ends with an odd number you can o
nly shop on odd calendar days and vice versa for ICs that end in an even n
umber.\n\n\n\n	Optometry services are now available by appointment only an
d pet supply stores are closed although you can still get pet food deliver
ed online.\n\n\n\n	However\, most retail stores that sell clothes like Zar
a\, electronics like Challenger\, furniture like Courts and Ikea and even
department stores like Robinsons and Tangs have temporarily closed. You ca
n still get some retail therapy done at these local online shopping sites.
	\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Can I still get a haircut?\n\n\n\n	\n\n	From April 22\
, all hair salons and barbers have to close. Basic haircutting services we
re previously allowed but that has now been suspended.\n\n\n\n	Beauty ther
apists\, nail salons\, tattoo parlours\, massage parlours (excluding healt
h-related services) are temporarily suspended.\n\n\n\n	Is there anything I
can do? I'm going mad!\n\n	There are still plenty of things you can do at
home. Check out our ongoing list of things to do this week including live
-streams and DJ sets you can party to at home\, online classes where you c
an pick up a new skill and other ideas on how you can make the most of the
situation and help the community. If you're the active sort\, tune in to
online workouts from some of the gyms and studios in Singapore.\n\n\n\n
	\n\n\n\n	Can I go on vacation?\n\n\n\n	\n\n	Just don't. Defer all non-esse
ntial travel – most of the cities have closed their borders anyway\, and
if you do manage to get a plane ticket out of Singapore\, you'll most lik
ely spend your entire time on lockdown instead of doing what travellers en
joy – sightseeing\, eating\, drinking and having fun in general. The wor
ld\, unfortunately\, has to wait. You'll also be required to serve a 14-da
	y Stay-Home Notice if you're flying into Singapore.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Oka
	y\, how about a staycation?\n\n\n\n	\n\n	Sorry\, not allowed either. Hotel
s are not allowed to receive new guests during this time while other hotel
s are being used as space spaces for those returning to Singapore to serve
their Stay-Home Notice. I don't know about you\, but the idea of someone
in the room next to you being ill isn't exactly my idea of a relaxing holi
day.\n\n\n\n	The Integrated Resorts like Marina Bay Sands and Resorts Worl
d Sentosa have also announced temporary closures in case you were thinking
of taking the family out to Universal Studios Singapore or the SEA Aquari
um. Other attractions around the city have shut their doors too.\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n	How can I stay safe?\n\n\n\n	\n\n	If you're staying at home as
much as possible\, I'd say you're doing a bang-up job so far. The governme
nt has also advised that should you leave the house\, be sure to wear a fa
ce mask to keep your droplets to yourself. This doesn't just protect you b
ut those around you. Coupled with good hygiene practices and washing your
hands for 20 seconds at the minimum as regularly as you can\, you should b
e on the right path. Also\, don't touch your face!\n\n\n\n	RECOMMENDED Eve
rything you need to know about face masks in Singapore\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n
How can I help those around me?\n\n\n\n	\n\n	The most heartening thing abo
ut this situation has been the community support and ground-up efforts we'
ve seen happening around the nation and even online on social media. Peopl
e are coming up with movements\, starting petitions\, creating crowd-sourc
ed spreadsheets and more to keep us all informed. We've put together some
ways you can help the community get through this together\, charities to s
upport if you can and places to donate goods to those that need them more.
We're all in this together and I'm sure we'll come out of this stronger\,
	 Singapore.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	https://www.tickcounter.com/countdown/19258
